Hello all. I have a 65 gallon fowlr 15 gallon sump. 10 months old. 1 flame angel two black and white clowns 1 Firefish 1 pearlscale butterfly 1 fox face. Snails and crabs. 95 pounds of live rock covered and beautiful red and purple algae. About 6 months ago I had an ich outbreak. At that time it killed everything but the two clowns. So I put the clowns in a 10 gallon quarantine ran copper on them. They did great. I left the DT empty for 80 days. Then put the clowns back. Since then I added all the other fish after a six-week QT. I didn't run copper on them while n QT because the sensitivity of angels and butterflies. Okay now for recent developments. I did a water change 3 weeks ago just like I always do nothing different or special. Only this time the butterfly and Flame angel had I C h the next morning. I'm not sure if someone brought it in despite being QT or if the 80 Days empty never got rid of it. However Over the last 3 weeks I've tried to see if it would clear up because I am aware that it would never be out of the system without being empty for 80 Days. All the fish have white dots now and have for at least a week. They seem to be doing great eating wonderful and acting normal. But I can see they still have it and I'm afraid they're all going to die if I don't do something since it's not going away and clearing up 3 weeks later. I'm trying to avoid having to go buy more stuff because all I have is a 10 gallon quarantine and there's no way I can put all these fish in there. My husband is going to kill me if I have to go buy another big tank to put all these fish in for another 80 Days. So I'm wondering if I could run hyposalinity in my DT if I remove all the crabs and snails. I don't want to hurt the Coraline algae growing on the rocks. I paid a lot of money to get them already covered in it and I do not want it to die off. I'm wondering if the hyposalinity will kill the Coraline algae. Would it be okay to do the hypo if I keep a check on the KH and calcium everyday and dos to keep it up. That is what I'm wondering. Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated.
