I'm building my 265g with 75g sump into the wall. I was confident that it would hold. Now I'm having second thoughts. Basement is finished. I would have to tear up cabinets and stove to get to the wall under the tank. It is a outside wall with my garage on the other side. Thoughts?

I understand that. Just wondering if that is too much. I think that I'm at the strongest point in the room, being in the wall and not in front of the wall. My wife would be passed if it ended up in the basement.

Since this is on the main floor how many floor joists are under this tank? Are the floor joists perpendicular to the long side of the tank? The stand should hold the weight but I would add cross bracing around the bottom between the legs. This will keep the legs of the stand in place and will prevent shifting.

I would make one change to the back middle support. I would double up the support so that part of the support is under the back stretcher. That is your only weakness, I can not see from the picture. From what I can see in the picture your four corners and front supports go directly to the floor and that is going to carry most of your weight. If everything is 4X4 supported around the rim you should not have an issue. If you know an engineer/Architect that person could tell you definitely what the load baring capacity would be. Myself I would drop the tank on it whit out a seconded thought.

Yea, that will hold the tank, but will the floor hold the tank??

The stand is fine. I would be concerned with whats under the stand. its on an outside wall I would guess since the garage is on the other side. does that mean there is a concrete foundation on the wall side. the reason i ask as you said there is a finished basement below but garage on the other side so im having a hard time getting a visual of the structure below and behind it

Is any part of your basement unfinished? So you can get an idea of what direction the joists are going?

My 210 is above my garage (( rowhouse type townhouse )), and the joist are running perpendicular to the tank, and it is on the "outside" wall. No issues.

I am having a similar dilemma with where I want to put my 160 gal DT and 60 gal sump. It is nearly the center of the house on the main floor with engineered joists that would run parallel with the tank. Footprint is 60"x27" so it would span 2 or 3 joists (I can see from the basement they are much closer together than other areas). I see folks asking about running parallel or perpendicular, what are the concerns?
