So I got the tank filled with water in the garage. I noticed a small portion of silicone seemed to be curled back just a bit. I can't remember if it was like that when I had it set up. I also noticed where it seemed like some silicone on the outside seemed to be thin? Here are some pictures. Looking for some feed back. I'm hoping the tank isn't shot because, I don't think i could reseal a tank on my own and feel comfortable with it.

I've done it. It's easy. Scrape the old off with a razor then run a new bead.

Will not say if it will leak or not, don't feel comfortable making that call. If you do however decide that the silicone needs to be replaced, I can verify with dkerns that it is easy to do. I redid the inside silicone on a 50 gallon and had no problems with the tank. As said use a razor blade to scrape off the old, I used rubbing alcohol to make sure that there was no residue on the glass and ran my new bead. I also ran tape on the corners to help keep things neater and help to give a clean edge once everything was done. If you do decide to redo the seals make sure to use a silicone that is aquarium safe. There is a lot of information available to help walk you through redoing the seals, and I am sure that you can find some videos on youtube. If you are not comfortable trying to do it yourself you can always check to see if a lfs may be able to provide this service or give you information on someone you could contact. Good luck

Actually, it is very hard to tell from your pics. No matter what other people tell me. When in doubt, I will try to reseal it now rather than taking the risk to have a leaky tank after you are fully setup and stocked with fish and corals.

sorry. I tried my best to take some decent photos with my phone camera. It's just a slight curl near the top. some air bubbles trapped underneath. I've never siliconed anything but, this seems like something I may not feel comfortable doing myself. I know, I've seen probably 1000 online FAQs and how to's but, i have a fear I would do a terrible job.

Does anyone else aquarium have slight curls in the silicone? is it normal to have small curls on some silicone?

+1 on the running alcohol, i forgot about that part. It'll get any skin grease off the glass helping for a better seal. The make plastic tools for running a good bead too. Basically a square piece of plastic with one of the corners cut off.
