Will kitchen odors and smoke affect my tank ?

Hey guys i was wondering if kitchen odors/vapors and smoke affect my tank ? I have it set up close to the kitchen and it is a rimless tank with no lid so im always worried that the smoke will mess up or poison my water. Does anyone know amything about this ? Thank you

I don't know how often you burn the meatloaf but casual cooking shouldn't influence the tank. Out lfs had a major fire next door and had a lot of smoke damage. All of their livestock fared well.
