Will Live Sand Cause a Cycle?

Hello. I will be upgrading from a 30 gallon to a 75 gallon soon, and I was wondering what the best sand choice would be. Would "live" sand cause a cycle from all the dead critters in it? Or is dry sand the better choice?

I've always went with dry, dead sand and just rinsed it really well.

Sand will become "live" in time anyway.

Will it cycle? If your transferring the rock right away into the new tank, probably not.

I think you are better off with well washed dry sand. If all the critters in live sand are dead, then it isn't really live LOL; plus the vast majority of the 'live' is bacteria which has negligible biomass anyhow.
