Will lugol's dip kill aiptasia anemone?

I have a Juicy paly frag i recently bought. After placing it my tank I noticed it had a small aiptasia on it. I immediately removed the frag from my tank and scrapped the anemone off. Today I noticed it was growing back. Will a lugol's dip kill it once and for all?

No it won't. Can you get the paly off the plug without the aiptasia?

I am not sure, it was wedged up against one of the polyps. I tried scraping off what grew back with a razer blade again. If I see it come back again, I may have to do just that and sacrifice one of the polyps. I've read these things can multiple quickly in a tank.

They can reproduce like crazy especially if they are stressed. You can try aiptasia-x or joe's juice.

Make it retract then glue over it, I've done that a few times when removing the plug is not possible and it seems to work.

No need to panic. Glue it as stated, then monitor. A little aptasia x will take care of it if it returns. Also peppermint shrimp will eat them. I had them in large numbers at one point. I just fed them aptasia x, twice a week and added a peppermint. Over the course of maybe a month, it's totally clear and they haven't returned in over a year

I inject them with vinegar right before I do a water change...just a small amount....that's before I got my peppermint shrimp...he keeps the DT free of them....my sump however is full of them...lol

Good to know about the peppermint shrimp. If they return, I'll have an excuse to pick up some more critters.

Aphasia X has been my only fight against this pests.

+1 on the peppermint shrimp I had at least 100 of them bought 2 shrimp gone within 2 weeks, never seen them working in the day but next morning aptasia was gone
