Will metal dust put tank in danger?

Will a minuscule amount of metal dust (residue from cutting the rsr DIY cover) affect my tank if a tiny amount gets in?

Your safe, however I would buy the cheapest magnetic pick up tool you can find and sweep throughout the bedding and remove as much as possible. Then of course discard when done as it will likely rust

I'd still try to avoid any metal dust going in the tank, Running vacum cleaner close to the saw shold help suck all the powder that get released

Very effective to simply cover the tank when using the equipment or relocate tank

Yeah - I just put one of those together - Firstly - it would be nice if Red Sea just cut the pieces for the tank you're ordering the cover for. I was also concerned about the metal itself on the edges of the cover - and all of the 'joints' have bare metal exposed - that I imagine over time will end up in contact with water from the tank. Though my guess is that its an inert material - its not well explained in the product information. The measurements were difficult - and have to be very very precise for the cover to fit. I would not recommend this product though it has good reviews... I also rinsed the very small particles from the edges - I didn't saw the pieces near the tank.
