I just added a bottle of tigger pods in my sump on my 29gallon biocube and when I went to look after a hour or two at night with a flash light I noticed some amphipods which had been there before had a nice red streak through them, I figured they had ate some pods and a little research found that I was right. But my question is will the amphipods eat all my tigger pods! I don’t have many amphipods as far as I can see. I want to be able to keep pods in my sump/display I also plan on adding apex pods, would this be a bad idea? I will be buying phytofeast to feed the tigger pods. There are also plenty of places for the pods to hide I have marine pure block and the copepod hotel in there. I also have a build up of detritus which from what I read should feed the amphipods.

I've been successful with tigs and tisbee pods in my biocube 29 using a similar method. I have some rubble and a homemade pod hotel at the bottom of the middle chamber. I also purposely left the sponge in place for them between that chamber and the return pump chamber and they're breeding like crazy. BUT I'm sure I don't have any amphipods. For you marine pure is probably a good choice because large amphipods won't be able to fit into the tiny holes of marine pure like copepods can giving them a place to hide.

I've never had good success getting tigger pods to reproduce IN my tank, I was able to culture them in a separate container. So whether they die from the amphipods or not, I think yours are going to die anywway
