Will my fish be okay with a clam?

I'm not sure where to post this since I didn't see anything under corals. So, sorry if it is in the wrong spot. I want a clam, but I don't know if my fish will pick at it and kill it. The only ones I'm worried about is my one spot fox face, Christmas wrasse, and pseudochromis. Will they pick at clams? The fox face hasn't touched a coral at all he just eats algae. Has showed no interest in corals what so ever. The wrasse is the biggest because I'm not sure. Anyone with experience keep these fish with clams before?

The wrasse and the Pseudo are great with a clam, they both eat clam pests.

Foxfaces are usually safe, but every once in awhile there are nippy specimens.

The question is backwards, the fish you have should be ok but there are no guarantee's that they wont develop an appetite for clams.
I have kept several with foxfaces but always with a side of caution...

Okay thanks that is good news. My fox face hasn't shown any interest in corals and I hope that stays that way. I am looking at a smaller clam size that doesn't get the size of a football. Does anyone have any recommendations? I don't know much about clams so I'm researching and sometimes it's easier to get information when you talk to someone that has experience with the subject.

The clams that are the best for beginners are of the genus Tridacna. These clams include: T. maxima, T. crocea, T. squamosa and T. derasa

For a first time clam, maximas and derasas are a little more forgiving than crocea and squamosa.

Okay. On divers den that's like all they had. My tank has been up and running for 9 months now if that means anything.

All tridacnas get pretty big, it's whether to a foot or three.

Takes years, by then you will likely want a bigger tank!

Okay I just wanted to make sure and most definitely will have a bigger tank. I just didn't know if within a year they would be massive but if it takes a few than that's okay if need be I can always recycle and pass it on to someone with a bigger tank if need be. Looks like most that are available are about 2 to 3 inches big.

I had a clam and a fox face, he didn't touch it at all for months, then one day, inside of half an hour he ate the mantel, I was in the room doing paper work, one minute it was all there, one minute ALL GONE...

+1, just keep the FoxFace fed and you should be ok. I have kept them with multiple clams.
