Will my Plumbing idea work for AWC with DOS?

I am in the early stages of setting up for an AWC using a DOS...

I initially ordered a 55 gallon brute trash can but they were out of stock after I ordered so I settled for 2-44 gallon brute cans.

I am going to be using 1/4in r o line to plumb.

At 3 a.m. this morning after being up almost 19 hours the thought occurred of why not using both brute cans for AWC? Basically my thinking is get an adapter that splits the line up into two separate lines and have them in each Brute can so when the DOS is doing a water change it will draw from both cans at the same time.

Will this work? Also I know on the DOS its max lift is 24 feet. drawing from two separate cans at the same time will this double my lift for those cans?

So your plan is to have both 44g cans full of salt water? You weren't going to use one as a fresh water reservoir (from RODI) ? (maybe you have a fresh water reservoir already?)

Assuming you are going to have two saltwater containers, both full of salt water at the same time, then you could just plumb one container to the other. The water level in both will be the same as long as the connecting pipe is underwater and doesn't get a bubble in it.

I'd think you'd want to use one can to hold RODI (fresh) water and then when your saltwater container is low, you could move the fresh water to the salt side, mix it and you're back in business. Or when the salt side is almost out, then you mix the fresh side with salt, place the DOS uptake line into the "new" saltwater vat, and let RODI water fill your (now almost empty) saltwater container.

Your DOS is not going to dose more or less if you put a splitter and pull water from both containers at the same time, but I think it would be easier to keep them separate.

This will certainly not double the lift.
As the other comment suggests, just plumb the 2 brutes together and keep the solitary uptake line from the DOS.

Depending on what you’re doing one of the brutes can be a dedicated Rodi reservoir for ATO.
