ok so im going to set up a new 10g tank with new sand and new dry rock but i will be using my 2yr old tank water from another tank i am running will my 10g tank cycle? or will i be able to add 1 small anemone right away?

Using water doesn't do much. The bacteria live in the sand and rock, not the water column. Also you shouldn't add an anemone for 3 to 6 months after starting the tank.

Using water will not help much, as the majority of the bacteria needed is on the live rock and sand. If you can seed your new tank with scup if your older sand or some rock. Yes, you will still get a cycle thought and adding a nem right away is certainly not a good idea.

thank you for your replies it was not going to be a new nem it was going to be one that been in my tank for a yr but i understand thank you will wait(:
