As you can see my return will exit 2.5" below the water surface. My sump will flood if a back siphon occurs. I have a BRS swing check valve and plan on getting a loc line check valve as well, will this make it safe? Trust me I have my reasons for having it so low!

Really only a siphon break is the only sure way to prevent a flood IMO. I have ran 2 tanks with check valves and they have failed just while doing water changes. Maybe some one know a way to make a siphon break for a set up like that

If you have your reasons for having the return that low, and are not willing or able to use some loc-line or other manner to bring the return higher, I'm guessing you're going to need a larger sump! I would not trust a check valve to prevent a flood. That is just my opinion.

Yea i would like to see if anyone can shed a little more light on the hole in the loc-line thing

You can run your return pipe higher than the hole and bring it back down to the hole. Drill your siphon break at the top of this pipe and it won't back siphon, just face the hole down so water isn't squirting out. All will be hidden behind the over flow. Don't use check valve as only line of defense.

If the hole is big enough it could. I was even thinking a revers check valve. Put a lock line tee behind over flow. With the check valve I. Back words. So when you turn your pump on it closes then when you turn pump off it opens braking siphon. Just make sure tee aims in tank

that is a great idea but i have VERY limited space back there

Right, but the pipe from the bulk head can go past this hole and come back to it. I did something similar on zero edge tank for the same reason.

Hahaha theres now way im building another sump, not trying to disregard any advice but its out of the question sorry. If anyone know how i could make the return come up then back down to the bulkhead or use a uniseal instead that would be great. Photos above for reference^
