I wouldn't. Triggers are curious fish that explore their surroundings with their mouth. Couple that with their sharp 'beak' and powerful jaws, and it does not bode well for the seahare.

What should I do. There is plenty of hair algae in my fowlr and I don't wan tf my sea hare to due in my reef

Mine never went after algae it just moved once a day never climbed on any rocks it was a worthless purchace

Consider a rabbitfish. They are lg enough and have venomous spines as defense and are good algae eaters. Either that or perhaps try a lights out period of a few days.

I am ok with hair algae visually but my sea hare will starve on my reef so there is nothing else I can do but return it?

Or pass it around fellow hobbyists that have algae problems. Once it clears one tank of algae, pass it on to the next hobbyist.

Or return it.
