hey guys

I'm moving house and tank is moving over this weekend.

The sand bed is only 5 months old...it's about 1.5" deep.
Should I just end up replacing the entire sand bed? And if so will it cause a cycle at all?

What do you guys suggest to those who have moved tanks before?

I would just buy all new sand. Stirring it all up could cause things to go wrong. Another thing you could do is wash all of it outside of the tank but that would take awhile.

Will it cause a cycle? I'm moving all the Pukani Rock over...

Or should I just make sure I have some Prime and have fresh saltwater ready in case any ammonia shows up?

How much sand would you say is in your tank?

Yea man I probably would just buy new sand since it isn't that much. Wouldn't want to risk a possible cycle.

I'm not positive it will or wont. The potential is there. So I always add bacteria in a bottle when doing stuff like that.

I just moved from mo to Florida I had cycles water and set up a tank put the cycles water in with the rocks and added new sand two days after and luckily didn't have a cycle idk if that helps u with the new salt water I put it my traces of ammonia nitrate were gone

Should be fine. Move everything, add new sand then a cup or 2 of old sand on top and you will be straight just feed light for a week or so
