Will removing live rock cause my cycle to reset?

Had about 30lbs of live rock in my little 13.5g tank which was causing a nightmare with flow. LFS I got it from convinced me I needed 3lbs/gallon so I went with it. I want to remove about 20lbs of it and just have an archway in the middle with 3 bigger pieces. Is this going to reset my cycle?
