So currently upgrading to a 350 gallon tank from my 180. Its all setup and plumbed with the sand added and currently filling right now. My initial plan was to fill half way and add salt into the tank so I can scape the bottom with the rock from the 180 so it will stay wet and keep bacteria alive and then use my dry rock on top since it doesn't need to stay wet . Now I realize I will not be able to mix the salt with my mp 40s because they will not be deep enough in the water to turn on . I don't have any other pumps to stick in the tank to mix the salt. Was going to try to just add salt slowly and hope it dissolves . Think I should be ok but other opinions before I go forward would be helpful. Thanks.

I think you will need to stir it somehow.

Just found an air pump. Other option is I might be able to find something used for cheap tomorrow.

Put 1 mp40 in sump and mix salt in sump and let it slowly recirculate? Not sure just a thought.

This has been my fancy mixing technology.

I thought about a big paddle haha . I wish I had something to mix in. I have my fish in one 100 gallon stock tank and my rock in the other one. I really thought I had everything planned out haha

My Brute garbage can was one of the best gifts I received from my husband. LOL!

Its an option to lower it . Just not sure if it will kick up all the sand. I feel like I will wind up just filling it up and getting wet. Was trying to stay dry but it probably will not happen.
