I ordered some ORA pajama cardinals, and they were shipped out on Monday night, to be delivered to me on Tuesday. Apparently, there were mechanical difficulties with the plane, and my fish ended up sitting in an airport all day yesterday. I received an update this morning that they will be delivered this morning, so they will have been in transit for about 36 hours.

Is there still any hope that they will survive? Is there anything I can do to give them the best possible shot of making it, apart from normal acclimation procedures?

I feel so horrible that these fish may not survive. Does anyone have any advice?

Thanks in advance!

You're living on a 50/50 right now. I hope he is alive! Worst part is idk if places cover plane delays for any reason at all :/

I was worried about that too. I called yesterday afternoon, and they told me that they were still covered by the 14-day guarantee even if it was due to a plane delay. But I'm still hoping they can make it.

Oh well that's good! I don't know many places that do the 14 day guarantee besides ACC. Where did you make your order from? Maybe I'll order from there too in the future. xD

They are a small, hardy fish. I have seen other species make it with the extra day of travel. My biggest concern would be temp. Heat packs don't last that long.
Agree.

ohhh okay, I believe LA has a decent guarantee. Best of luck! I hope he pulls through!

So far so good. Heat pack was still warm. They are all breathing and swimming, though a couple seem sluggish. With some luck, they may make it!

They are currently acclimating. I’ll see how this goes.

Thanks for all the encouragement. I thought they were goners!

They are alive and eating! They are hanging out in my quarantine/frag tank and look great!

Hooray for happy endings! As an FYI, LA does cover plane delays, I lost a couple of corals due to a FedEx "mechanical failure" and they refunded my money no questions asked. And were even nice about it :) You just can't beat that.
