I plan to buy a Cuban hogfish and maybe some dart fish. I have a 180 DT with tangs, clowns damsels and a Blue Niger named Brutus the Butthead Beefcake. Brutus is a bully and I’m concerned he will kill the newcomers. He has been in the tank for over a year.
I have used acclimation tanks, mirrors etc in the past but Brutus goes after the new fish. He has killed two of them.
I was thinking about catching Brutus and putting him in another tank for a few days while the new fish acclimate. Will this work or cause more issues. Any one ever try this or something similar?
