Drilling this hole was the most nervous ive ever been (even tho its a $130 petco 75)

Will this hole be okay? It has some relatively big chips but still less than a third into the bulkhead gasket. I can also silicone the bulkhead.

It will be as we had a similar hole a few months back. While not common practice, you Can use a thin bead of aquarium sealant as a secondary measure to assure seal.

Do not silicone the bulkhead, that will be fine. However is that black the trim? You sure there is enough room for the flange?
Doing a Fiji Cube overflow box that recommends 2x gaskets on outside to overcome the rim. Still have to cut out a 2”x0.5” section of the rim to fit the gaskets

Yeah, the hole looks fine, as long as the gasket is making contact with flat glass all the way around it’ll be fine. But as said above, looks like you won’t have room to accommodate the flange and gasket.

Not entirely sure on the hole being okay since it has a very noticeable angle on the top. The gasket might be able to handle that considering its not under a lot of water pressure but the hole does look way too close to the top trim to fit a bulkhead properly.

Gaskets (1 per bulkhead) go on the flange side, regardless of whether that's the wet side or dry side of the bulkhead.

as per Fiji Cube:

I can cut the rim though to accommodate the overflow box if need be.

That way I would be only running one gasket

Edit: the original pic sucks.
