ok well i have 2 tanks one's a 90 gal mixed reef mostly sps lps and zoanthids and it has a 30gal refugium/sump DIY i built with a 1 1/2" sb and bunch of LR and cheato which is seeded with tons of pods bristle worms its got protien skimmer and 2 120watt blue reef LED fixtures with 14k white and 453nm blue LED's and that tank has been growing so well i cant ask for more. But my younger 55gal mixed frag grow tank has mostly sps and some lps and softies aand its hooked up with a wet/dry filter and has prtein skimmer and i usually run GFO in my tlf reactor but i'm out at the moment but to my question. I used to run a metal halide fixture with 2 150watt DE MH's which i used pheonix 14k's and then i added some LED strips. I now have one 36" truelumen pro 12k/453nm blue reef fusion LED strip and same brand 24" strip but all blue.
Then i added 2 12" ecoxotic 12k white LED panorama pro modules and one RGB pro modules "RGB is mostly for astecis then for actual coral light suppliments.
OK so with a total of 5 LED strips which are the above mentioned i was not able to fit them over my tank without removing my MH's which i have ran without for a couple months and i have noticed some sps frags havnt changed some are browning and lost a few but i have a lot of frags so this tells me that i either need to add more LED's or add reflectors or figure out how to have at least 3-4hrs of MH's on them everyday andd is this sound about right? b/c my funds are super low and i run a small buisness selling frags locally and building refugiums cheap amungst other things so these frags are my income and i cant lose them slowily like they seem to be right now but on the flip some are looking fine with great polyp extension so idk? any tips apriciated i've been in this hobby ezp growing corals for a couple yrs so anyone with someadvice that will not cost me too much would be awesome sorry for the noval post. lol
