Hey all. I'm back to the salty hobby after a few year hiatus. The wife and I really like the colorful stick tanks but the equipement needed just ins't in the budget at this time. We have a Fluval M60 26G all in one tank. I plumbed in a 7G refugeium under the tank. It came with the light in the link. http://www.fluvalaquatics.com/us/pr...rum-performance-led-strip-light/#.XGDMu1xKiLA

Would this allow us to successfully keep colorful LPS corals? We really like the deep reds and blues.

Also open to suggestions from those who have had success with LPS tanks. I learned my lesson and will now ask for advice before assuming what I do will work.

It will keep them alive, but, from what I have seen the colors will be washed out.

There are a huge assortment of low cost light fixtures that will work on that size tank and have nice color.

You could even do a black box and run it turned down for under $100.

Take a look at the Noopsyche K7 Pro II. Very nice light and available in the US now from Sustainable Aquatics.

It's a generic term for black box shaped LED fixtures, usually from China or Taiwan.

They work very well despite the price. They are friendly to modding and you can use them when you get a larger tank.

Do a search for black box lots of info and people with beautiful aquariums.
