Will this light work for a refugium?

I think it depends on your display light settings, nutrient levels, & how much algae is in the display.

If you're trying to battle high nutrients and powerful lighting you may need to go with a more powerful fuge light like a ufo 150w grow or kessil h380. I've found if you don't have a lot of algae in you're display and have decent nutrients you can get by with a par30 led flood light @5000k.

I've used this for yrs with good success also.

I use one like this. Running for almost 2 years so cant find exact link. Fit my DIY sump perfectly. I do have to hang it 3"-4" above fuge but grows cheato great for me.

I just recently put this on my FOWLR tank with a 15 gallon refugium. After a month its growing Chaeto very nicely. They make a 150W one as well. Many reviews on this light and for the price you cant beat it.

On my 120 Gallon Reef I use a Kessil H80 and love it. But was not sure it was going to be justified for my FOWLR

I'm using one like that, I was going to use the exact same one that the OP posted, but didn't think the open panel design would hold up to salt creep. FWIW I put my light next to the tank so it lights from the side. I don't think it grows as well if it was suspended over, I get a lot of GHA on the glass.

I used to use a small grow bulb from Home Depot in a clip on fixture and it worked for me. I only light a small fuge, 1/3rd of a 20 gallon sump.
