I am in the planning stage of a new tank and want to start curing the rock once the aquascape is cemented together. A regular brute trash can won’t work due to the size the aquascape will be. I have one of these stock tanks on hand but am wondering if the brass drain plug will leech into the rock and cause issues? I read that brass takes years to corrode but will tarnish fairly quickly in sea water. Has anyone used one of these before and what was your experience?

When I was building my mixing station on Jan 2021 I used two 120 gallon polyethylene reservoirs for RO and salt water. They come with brass plugs fixed to the body.

since it was the only option I have where I live for this size. I took the chance and used them with no problems until now.

but, I used silicone to cover the inside of the plug with my finger.

All metal will leech in salt water. Get any metal out and replace with a plastic bulkhead.
