Will this mushroom die?

Hey guys this is my favourite mushroom!

Unfortunately, a piece of the “rubble” it was glued to has fallen off the plug, and so it’s foot has been stretched tremendously, way past what I would assume is healthy… I’m worried it will tear and die, do I need to do anything about it to help? Hopefully you can see what I mean in this video. I don’t know why it doesn’t just let go of the rubble…

I think considering the trauma to the foot, it is doing exceptionally well. I would leave it be personally, im no expert on ricordia, but I have 10 of them, and some have gone through some pretty rough things. I had one that had been buried in the sand for two days and was sure it was doomed, but yet it came back.

Definitely a hardy coral, and im certainly surprised myself. Makes me cringe everytime I look over and see it hanging on. It's probably going to tear on it's own at some point. I don't know if it's worth moving the rubble at least closer to the shroom so it's not tugging so hard and it can detach if it wishes.

Like I said Im no expert on whether moving it would be better or not, but it seems to be doing fine as is.

Mine had a similar incident where its foot got stretched and I didn't realize tore a piece off. What was left behind became a baby mushroom and now it has left another baby behind. I wouldn't worry. Hard to kill a mushroom.

Just cut that bit of foot off. I randomly chop my shrooms in literally any part and each piece survives and grows a new mouth. Even if you just chop off a part of the rim of the disc, that part can reattach to a rock (keep in a calm environment) and eventually become a fully formed mushroom. Amazing really.

It will be fine. I've propagated mushrooms by cutting them in half or even fourths with a razor blade and rubber banding then to rocks. Keep it in a good spot and it will recover quickly
