Will This T5 Fixture Suffice for an SPS Quarantine System?

Theherold, I would try and scrap as many egg clusters off as you can or glue over them. Especially if you just started fws. It will help get numbers down.

Can Flatworm Stop be administered via a doser? I’m having difficulty finding verbiage regarding whether it needs to be shaken or not.

I ask because I am away from my system most weekends, and using a doser would ensure that I don’t miss a dose.

Yup, I've tossed plenty of corals that had eggs on them. Already down a few grand as 3-year-old colonies disappeared.

Double dose FWS? The instructions say to not exceed their recommendation.

I’ll likely start with the recommended dose and then slowly increase it until I’m at a double-dose. @jda has a number of posts in which double doses are the recommendation.

Funny you mention that. Right now I am timing how long it takes for my BRS doser to dispense 5ml, so I can do the same.
(They claim 1.1ml/minute, but I see quite a bit of variation between pumps).

Edit: it’s 2ml minute, so I’ll program 2.5 minutes (reefer 350) split into three 50 second dosages.

Yea the double dose is fine and I even used extra sometimes with no worries. I don’t think it needs to be shaken because when the wormwood is mixed people have been letting it settle and straining the solids out before using it so I would think a doser would be fine.

And don’t get me wrong I don’t want to get aefw nor do I try to get them, I just won’t freak out if I do get them again since I know I can do the wormwood treatment. I have been thinking about dosing it just to see if it helps with coral health in any way.

So, I’m going to place an order for Flatworm Stop and Coral Booster, but I need advice regarding Coral Booster.

Coral Booster’s instructions state to dose 1mL/25g every other day. I will use an Apex and a DŌS to administer the Flatworm Stop, and I want to use the DŌS to administer Coral Booster as well, but the Apex can’t be configured to dose every other day. So, would it be acceptable to dose 0.5mL/25g/day of Coral Booster? I ask because the Apex can easily do that. Then, I could automate the dosing of both products, ensuring that I don’t miss any doses.

Perhaps 1ml was just the minimum amount they expected common hobbiests to be able to measure, so they said every other day. I can’t imagine why dosing 1/2ml daily would have a different net result.

I didn’t see much difference with coral booster and don’t think it’s needed. I dosed daily instead of every other day.
