Will this tiles be safe for fragging?

those mosaic tiles ( Travertine I got at Home Depot.
imunderstood that the tile itself is safe and good.
wandering about the glue (softens and removable when heated) migight make it unsafe to use
please help. I really like the quality and size of thos.

But you question the glue, as you should.. I just don't see the reasoning, but I have heard of people doing this, I guess if price is the driving factor, as far as looking nice everything gets covered up eventually. Tell me if you see how nice the tiles are these pictures?

That's basically the same thing that I use for grow out (get mine from amazon). I like them better than the coral specific tiles. Mainly due to the size being larger, but also because its easy to frag zoas from them. Since they have a smooth surface it's easy to scrape underneath the zoa mat, which is my preferred zoa fragging method.

Same here! I started using these lately because they are actually cheaper than coral specific frag tiles and larger like you said and the smooth surface allows the coral to lay down tissue faster I believe. You can't go wrong with clean ceramic.

I actually picked up a few 6" tiles im going to start using for large colony grow outs, I always let my tiles and plugs marinade in my sump for a few months.

I can see using them in a grow out where space is an issue or for ease of fragging, but I hate getting stuff on square or hexagonal with no posts. No post for retention on a frag rack and a more hassle to trim before attaching to rock. Even on sandbed I like having a post. Regular plugs you can trim off with a post left behind to stick into a hole on rock or you can just lop off the post and glue a small disc to rock. Me personally I prefer the Oceans Wonders natural plugs made from reef sand vs. made in Mexico tiles from who knows what.

they are ceramic, and I really like them, the price is pretty good and they ship really well. haven't had a broken one yet.

I wouldn't trust that. Ceramic can leach aluminum into your system. I have had experience with this with a certain type of ceramic filter media. Get the aragonite tiles

that's a possibility,i run icp tests almost monthly and haven't seen any unusual aluminum values but it's definately something to watch for.

They go through the bandsaw really easily as well.

The other day I decided that I wanted to mount some large yumas to something solid, but didn't need the whole 4"×4" tile (available space in my frag tank is hard to come by right now so saving every little bit that I can helps). I decided to cut down a few of the tiles and was really surprised at how easy they were to cut given how dense they feel. I love these things!

I’ve never used ones with the glue, but I use the ones from Home Depot that come in a heat sealed bag. They work great but they do deteriorate with time. Not a big deal but in a few years portion of the tile usually wastes away.
