I got a bunch of dry pukani rocks, looking to turn it "live" - I'm not looking to add any live rocks from any established tank.

If i buy live sand, bacteria, pods etc ... will it eventually turn live.

Absolutely. I guess there are different terms or meaning to live rock. Once bacteria has grown on/in it it's live rock. After a few months when its covered in coraline and is home to pods then its even... live(er)?

Yes but no need for pods,

In theory you could place in a trash can fill of saltwater and a punp, add bacteria and wait around for a month.

Using pods like that will prolly waste some in my mind. Id rather add pods directly in the tank you want the rock used in.

From one Devil dog to another, smarter not harder.

The live sand... pods, waste of money unless its already in a tank your gonna use. It'll be more work to transfer over.
