will vermitid and spirobid cause corals to shrink?

Hey guys, I have a 13.5 evo tank and Im having random euphylia shrinking and semi retracting. It started with my frogspawn randomly retracting, now its my hammers and torches. The corals are okay for most of the day and get worse at night. Luckily I dont see any skeleton or signs of tissue loss yet, but the last time this happened, it followed a similar trend.


My other corals are fine and my paramters are very stable. I do notice some vermitid snails and spirobids on some of the skeletons but its really not too bad. There are those nasty webs present as well. I dont see any flatworms. My light settings has not changed in 3 months. This all just started happened 3 days ago and not getting better. Can this cause euphylia to act this way?


THINGS IVE DONE--
-ordered some bumble bee snails to hopefully keep the vermitid snails in check
- added some fresh chemipure blue and floss
- turned on UV sterilizer
- performed a 10% water change
- Will cut down on feeding
-turned down AI prime light settings 30%
- crushed some vermitid tubes with needle nose plyers

Yep, 100%. The mucus thread they secrete can annoy surrounding coral. I know results are 50/50 depending on who you ask, but I have had success with bumblebee snails taking care of vermitids.

thanks for your response! I ordered 5 bumblebee snails coming tomorrow. I am going to try to starve them by feeding less. I cant figure out what else can be causing my euphylia to become unhappy.. I really hope they dont stress and brown jelly.
