My LFS was using these lights on their frag tank and getting great growth. With the plague they have been closed and unable to ask cause I bought a 2 of them for my tank. 90g mixed reef. I followed directions with mounting which was very minimal to place 5 inches off surface of water. I have 2 lights for a 48 inch tank. Do these need to be raised higher just cause they seem so low to the water? Wanted to know if anyone else uses these lights and what their setup is. Thanks ahead for the input.

I mean I am getting plenty of light into the aquarium. Was looking at renting a par meter but my God the upfront expense of the deposit is horrendous. Waiting on my LFS to open up post apocalypse to see if they have one to borrow for the mere 1 hour it'll be used.

Nice corals I would say they look fine from the pic. As long as there’s no water hitting them you should be fine. Just keep an eye on your coral see if they react to the lighting. I recently changed lighting to AI Prime 16hd and had to move the lights way up my zoas started to crown at the top.I moved the light up a few inches all is well now.I tried to find a cheap par meter forget it.Way expensive to buy

The zoa frags are open and happy. Been in the tank for 1 week so far at the same level in the tank. Same goes with the Monti and favia.

Sounds like job for a par meter my friend...once you get your numbers then you need to balance that against the type of corals you plan to keep

Know anyplace that rents them without requiring so much deposit?

Reviving an old thread to see how the OP is liking those lights. I have 5 on my 8’ 240 and I’m struggling to get them dialed in! What have you found works for distance to corals, intensity and duration? Thanks for any tips
