Windex, how bad?

That is true. Which reminds me, @Randy Holmes-Farley If it was windex, is there anything specific you think might show up in a triton analysis? It's going to be painful waiting for those results.

Unfortunately, no. The chemical elements in the windex ingredients will not stand out in a Triton test.

I think the best you could do is to wait and watch. Who knows its just the lifecycle of having reef setup. I have known some days your corals won't look too good and than thebofay days they just look vibrant. I won't do too many things in short time instead follow the basics and let the system handle itself.

How long were the Acros out of the water? I think they can stand out of the water for a while. Anyone else want to chime in here?

Keep doing the water changes I would think would be best.

I had 3 hoses going simultaneously and the entire 90g water change was complete in 16 minutes. I only know that because I timed the drainage to know how much to drain.

When I started my first tank I was obsessive when it came to keeping the outside of the glass spotless. My solution was Windex, not knowing the glass cleaner had the potential to nuke my tank. After a month or two everything in the tank had died except a few corals. I was running multiple tests and even had the local fish store test my water, all parameters were in check. I set up a hospital tank and transferred all of the remaining corals. After the transfer I completely drained the DT and refilled it entirely with fresh saltwater. I let the tank recycle and slowly added the corals back. After that I never had any troubles. I have learned from my mistake and hopefully your water change will be the solution to your problem.

Okay then 16 minutes isn't long. I have walked into a LFS with Acros exposed to air for 30 minutes or longer. I also think in the wild acros spend a short while out in the open air.

So now how is everything doing?

Figured it's time to update this. I just got my triton test a couple days ago which is right on par with my last test. As far as I'm concerned that confirms it was Windex or some other toxin that caused this.

My joes rainbow 2.0 has come back along with blueberry muffin, bonsai, red plantet, green milli, and a couple other no names. They all have polyps and getting color back. Cali tort is a goner, plum crazy not looking good but still kicking. Miami orchid began stn but might stop. Some Hawkins died while another colony came back.

Zoas and many lps were never affected. Some lps was though, blue candy canes, space invader pectinia, hydnophora, was affected but it's coming back now. Most Monti became very faded but I suspect it will all recover. Gorgs all seem to have come back aside from one that is getting more pe everyday but not back to normal yet. All stylos seem fine now with good color and pe.

I plan to move some of the acro back that I removed. The ones I left in the original tank actually made a slightly better come back than the ones I remove to a different tank. Only thing keeping my from moving them back is that there is red planaria in the other tank and I'd like to leave those there.

I wasn't for sue that it would be the windex but this changes things. Glad you're back on the right path!

PS. Can you update your first post with the photos? They are not working. I would like to share this!
