Hey guys! Winter in New England is coming... What is the best heater? I already had one stuck on... Luckily I saw on time. It will be hooked up with my Apex. Thank you

Regardless of the heater brand, I'd highly recommend it attached to a controller. With an Apex, it sounds like you're set. This will protect you from the "stuck on" failure that occurs with any and all brands of heaters. I personally like Eheim Jagers....they have glass twice as thick as other brands. My only complaint about Jagers is that they are long. I'd also recommend using two heaters as well. This will help when one craps out...the other will at least keep you close to proper tank temperature. My second choice are Sera heaters.

Yes they are long and the heater that got stuck on was a 200w Jagers. I will look for the sera heaters.

I know a lot of people don't like them, but I run a Tru-Temp with a digital controller. going on five years and only replaced the temp. probe last year. I have two Ehiems in storage just in case.

I USE THE AQUEON PRO HEATER, THERMAL PLASTIC SHATTER PROOF OUTSIDE, ALUMINUM CORE INSIDE. I BOUGHT A RED SEA TANK AND IT CAME WITH A RED SEA HEATER BUT IT IS GLASS.
DUE TO I AM ACCIDENT PRONE, I CAN'T DO GLASS. I AM NOT GOING TO BAD MOUTH OTHER HEATERS AND I HAVE ALLMOST ALL OF THEM, THIS IS WHAT WORKS FOR ME. THEY ALL HAVE
A LIFE EXECTANCY OF 3TO5 YEARS.
