Trying to winterize my chiller until next Spring/Summer and am curious what you guys (and gals) do for winter. I killed the power to the outlet for my chiller and still have a dedicated pump in my sump pushing water through it. I want to turn that pump off to but am afraid that if tank water sits inside of the chiller all winter then it will be a mess to restart next year. wut do?

If you are worried about the water sitting, just drain it. Run some vinegar through it to clean it out and let it sit. I wouldn't want the water just sitting to reenter my tank either.

I didn't really think it through about maintenance on the chiller and it would be a huge pain in the *** to pull it out to drain it. I'll just keep pumping water through it for now. Thanks for your help.

See if u can hook up air to inlet and blow out water with a compressor or shop vac let air run 2min. Covering outlet side to build pressure to help blast out water

I just checked the owner's manual, http://www.deepblueprofessional.com/assets/export-kryos---owners-manual-web-sm.pdf , I doesn't even mention anything about maintenance of the water lines inside of the chiller, just keeping dirt out of the cooling fins. There are unions at the top of the chiller and I used black 5/8" tubing to plumb it. Would have to clean out those tubes too. I think it is probably much easier to keep flow going through it and then blow it out and clean the fins for spring maintenance. Thanks for the ideas!
