I recently installed an ATI SunPower T5 fixture via the included wire hanging kit. I’m now trying to find a solution to keep the excess wire tidy. I have seen photos in past threads that appear to have the excess wire coiled up, similar to a garden hose. Below is an image that shows what I’m referring to:

Is there a good way to keep the excess wire coiled, as in the photo above, to keep it looking tidy? I have nearly 1.5’ on both sides of the fixture that I want to manage.

Is it as easy as coiling the wire and simply routing the end through the loop, as done in the photo above?

You could coil it, but I don’t like how that looks. On my fixtures I tie a small knot below the connector (when the light is in its normal position), and then cut the wire about 2” below that.
The knot is a failsafe in case the connector piece loses its grip.

Hm. I like the idea of having the knot as a failsafe. Thanks for the idea!

Cut it and add a crimp to the end to keep it from fraying and as a safety feature.

Another option is to add a small piece of heat shrink to where you want to cut the wire. Just cut straight through the heat shrink and neither end will fray.

The last option I can think of is to put a little solder on the section you want to cut. This way it keeps it’s silver look.

I coiled mine then used velcro wire strap to keep the coil secure and just leave it on top of fixture. I used something like this from Amazon.
