By wireless I mean no wire in tank, such as the MP40. Looking to upgrade my mp10s and while I’m happy with them I would like to consider all options first. I find a million power heads but they all seem to put a wire on the wet side. Any other suggestions?

To my knowledge ecotech is the only ones making something like these. Interested to see if there are others. Following along :)

Ecotech has a patent on that design. Will not find another brand that is similar till it expires.

Now if look at freshwater tanks they do awesome jobs at hiding wires and power heads. @Lasse incorporated this into his build, and i think he stated that company is starting to ship to the us soon, or already is.

Yeah these are going into my reef tank, and wires are not the end of the world however I love the low/ wireless profile of echotechs MPs.

Any “wired” powerheads that really stand above the rest? Or have significant benefits over echotechs peoduct?

I used the MP10's and loved them. However, I'm using the gyres now and gotta say they cover the tank much better.
You can either go with the maxspect or the more cost effective Ice Caps. I'm running two Ice Cap 3k's in my 75 and there isn't a dead spot in the tank :)

Every person has different criteria in what they are looking for.

I upgraded to tunze controllable pumps this fall for longevity and the ease they attach to my controller. A wire and program a stream mode for each pump and done. I may eventually get their hide rocks so they ate hidden more. I also like that they can be tilted vs the ecotechs. I also use a single korallia evo on a separate circuit breaker, just because they last forever. And back up if the main trips, there is still gas exchange.

See I started with MP10s because I was trying to “get the best” from the start and not replace cheaper stuff along the way. That being said I have no other experience Mitch other power heads and no experience with gyres. I have read about gyres extensively but it’s like a Ford/Chevy debate about which is better gyres or power heads.
