I don't have radions or any Ecotech products, but I believe they communicate to each other via wireless. If you want to hook up a computer for programming it still needs to be via cable.
woah woah woah....do tell!? I was just wondering if I could run ESL from my iPad. Or looking for a wireless option as my computer is 30 feet away(up a set of stairs). and I want to be able to program and adjust the light while looking at it and the tank.
This will work from more than 30 feet. I hooked it up last night. I put the netgear box inside my canopy and plugged in the usb. Got everything rolling and logged in to ecolive. Then logged in my ipad from the couch and voila played with lights from ipad. Showed my wife and kids thunderstorm mode!
hold on..so, you connect the device you linked(netgear box) to the radion via USB? And the netgear box is plugged into an outlet? hhhmm
then ESL is running on your main computer(connected to your router) and you can access it with the iPad? I am so getting on this project, this weekend.
