I can not for the life of me find the thread where AZ told me how to do this :( I got my 4" fans and the variable power adapter plus I have 16g wire. I need to install the fans in the canopy today but can't remember which wire hook up to which on the power source.

Does anyone know?

Cut the fan plug off and the power supply DC side plug off. Tie the fan's yellow wire back, you won't be using it. Use the black and red wires only and splice them to the two wires coming out of the power supply. On some fans it makes no difference if the red goes to the solid black or the black with a white stripe from the power supply on others it does so I first strip the wires back a half inch or so and twist them together trmporarily to determine air flow direction or fan rotation.
For the permanent connection I use miniature crimp splice connectors covered by a piece of shrink tube or in some cases when I have time on my hands I solder the connections then use shrink tube.
