Probably because we are the furthest state from any ocean what so ever, and its easier to bring the ocean here, than to try and visit it regularly.....

I'd love to do a little saltwater pond in my backyard. I think some of the tougher marine fish would do okay over the summer. Or maybe brackish fish.
