Witch substrate is the best?

I have a fish tank that currently has crushed coral ,however I want to get some gobies for my tank but I don’t know if they would be compatible with the larger grain crushed coral I could switch to sand but I’ve also heard that sand can get on and kill corals witch substrate could I use to have gobies and keep corals safe?

I like Carib Sea special grade. It’s big enough that it doesn’t get blown around, and small enough that it’s good for burrowing fish. And easy to vacuum.
