I am with my wife today. I am taking a break from the delivery room at her request for me to rest. everything is going great and I thought I would tell yall, because of your encouragement on Saturday about it.

haha. yeah the baby was born tonite at 7:45 by c-section. the he came out at 8pounds 4 ounces and 21 inches long. he was a big baby. my wife lost 22 pounds total. lol. the baby is as happy as can be. he is breastfeeding and sleeping easy.

congrats. ours was 8lb 6 o.z. and 22 inches. Some advice. if they have a lactation consultant Id talk to her as much as possible. It makes a big difference on the latch. Much more easy on mom. The nurses gave us a lot of bad info on this subject.

we are. we had trouble and we ended up having to use a bottle for most of the feeding. we are gonna talk with the lactation consultant in the morning. they don't have one at night. pretty understandable to me. we have a good nurse though. she just had a kit 4 months ago and has only been back for a month so she is very understanding.

I think you did. me and a couple people talked at the end about it. i was keeping the subject on topic there. not the type to go talking about my personal life in a big group too much.

Congrats! That is a decent size baby. Both mine were either side of 5 pounds but they were very small premies. Good to here things are going well. that C-section will take alittle time to heal so be nice to the wife! LOL

nice? I pick on her all the time. she knows I do it because I love her though. she has been very nice though. we are both very happy.
Congrats on the new baby Jimmy!!! Tel your wife to be patient about the breastfeeding. It can work but it can be very frustrating for her and the baby the first couple days. But don't give up!! The nurses at Erlanger east are great, especially April Bryan's wife make sure she takes care of you!!

I agree, don't give up on the breastfeeding. It will be very frustrating for the first week or so, but it's worth it. Better for the baby and cheaper than buying formula. If she doesn't have to go back to work, just keep doing it. Convenient, always ready and free!!! Congrats on the baby. I missed that she was ready to deliver at the meeting. And remember, you are her slave for the next few weeks since she will be insane with concern over the baby.

breastfeeding is working great for her now. she is happy as can be. I got sick today and I can't hold my baby though. it really sucks. I hate how bad my immune system has been the last few months. but I can't do anything about it now. we are really happy and glad he is happy. my wife is very happy. she has been sore the passed few days, but that's expected. we are going home in the morning.

we haven't done discharge yet so I will ask. we did all the classes before we came here too though.
