So I awoke to find my flame angel at the bottom of my tank in a pile of goo.

My foxface rabbit fish has been hiding under a rock and hasn't moved in hours.

Any idea as to what happened?

The only thing that I think could have possibly done it are maybe fulgida worms (small) or my long tentacle anemone.

Unless maybe the rabbit fish stung the angel?

I tested everything yesterday and all my parameters are perfect.

The flame angel has been in there for about 3 weeks and the rabbit fish 1-2 weeks.

Nothing has changed.

What are you testing for? What are the parameters that you are testing and what are the results? What size tank?

or bacterial. Did you see anything like black/white flecks or a black dusty look to them?
labored breathing, nudging rocks with their body?

I didn't see any signs of ich on either of them. No rubbing on rocks. Very strange.

My clowns and wrasse are all doing great.

I would suggest starting with a freshwater dip for the rabbit fish....see if a bunch of white flakes come off in the water (flukes). Angels are known to be a fluke magnet....easy to check off the list and may help the fish if it is flukes.

Also, you will most likely need to move ALL the fish to qt for treatment.

Ah so the other fish is probably hiding from the light

Does this look like what you are taking about?

Hi Heather. I'm very sorry for the loss of your angel. Is your foxface breathing heavy at all? I think I saw that asked, but I'm not sure I saw the answer. I would like for you to do a freshwater dip on the foxface. I'll show you how. It's easy, but you want to be careful not to get stung. We are check for flukes first. This is easy to do and will tell us a lot. Watch the whole video it will show you what to do and what to look for.

Thank you very much.

Yea he kinda seems to be.

I will try and see if I can catch him and try that. I'll wear my aqua gloves so I don't get stung. I've heard that sucks.

Did a dip and nothing came off at all....

Alrighty, so that rules out flukes for us. Was the foxface breathing heavy before the dip? How is he doing after? Breathing easy? Acting normal? Are any of the fish in the tank scratching or rubbing against the sand or rocks every now and then?

Yes labored breathing before and after.

No fish are rubbing up against the rocks.
