Does this look more like something stung it as opposed to a chemistry issue? It was perfectly fine before I went to bed, woke up to this. All other chalices are perfect in the tank. There was another chalice pretty close to it but never gave issues. Do chalices fight each other?

If it truly happened overnight, then it was most likely due to something eating or stinging it. Do you have any crabs or fish that might have wanted a midnight snack?

Looks very much like a sting

I don't have any crabs or fish that would eat anything. I don't believe there are any pests since I have not added coral in months and no other corals have ever had issues. I'm wondering if there was a stray tentacle from a euphyllia that may have come off over night

I've read chalice can expel some type of skeleton like something, it's their guts basically, and then they can pull it back inside. too lazy to search for it, but they might've started warfare.

Any corals of 2 different species can fight.
It's tough to discern different species of Echinophyllia.

Looks like it was stung. I have some chalice with some pretty long sweepers at night that have gotten another coral
