My magnesium seems to be pretty low I just did a test today and this is what I got on my magnesium five days ago I was at 1480 to 1520 and now I’m down to this everything else seems OK

If there were no significant water changes last 5 days and there is no massive precipitation in the tank and if you are using the same Mg test, then it seems to be testing error (now or 5 days ago). There is no biological process in the tank that can use such amount of magnesium for 5 days. 1280-1320 mg/l is actually normal level. I would check it in couple of days again and to see if there is a trend.

100% test error (very common) or salinity changes. Nothing else can make magnesium go up and down like that.

If you are using the Red Sea kit, many people have problems with it.

Red Sea Magnesium kit?

It is, IMO, by far the most problem prone magnesium kit based on user issues here. I've never used or tested it. This is based purely off of lots of user comments here like "My magnesium is way too high, How do I lower it? when in reality, it is OK when it gets carefully evaluated in others ways).

Well the reason I got that kit it was just highly recommended to me from a few people and I’ll be honest I believe you just need to go back to school and take chemistry again just to learn half of the things you have to do in this hobby Whether it’s right or wrong everything in my tank seems happy and the tank looks clean,so I don’t know
