Work in GSP rock (pictures included)

Reef stats for my Fluval EVO 13.5 in case anyone is curious. Last taken on 3/13/22:

• Salinity: 1.024
• Water Temp: 79*F
• Nitrate: 3ppm
• Phosphate: 00.17 ppm
• Calcium: 480 ppm
• Alkalinity: 12.1 dKh

So recently (~2 weeks) I noticed that my branching GSP has retracted and hasn't come out. Thinking it could be something like diatoms irritating it (other coral is fine, such as my branching hammer and zaos, which are growing very quickly) I wanted to do a dip with some revive. Mind you I dipped this coral before before but i guess I didn't it well enough? Anyways here is what I found..

1) A lot of nudibranches, to my surprise and
2) This worm thing....

I dunno what the heck this is, but I am curious as to what it may have been. The guts/inside were orange/red as I did pull it after it died, but the clearest photos are below. Curious as to what it would be.

Looks to be possibly the remnants of a bristleworm. Unless it was fiery red on the outside with red feelers. Then it's a fireworm and you definitely don't want those.

From what I can tell it had nothing on the outside, other than being a bit scaly. If that is the case then I now feel sorta bad for doing a dip.

When it doubt - dip it out!
