Working my Protein Skimmer

I have a Aqua One ProSkim G216 Protein Skimmer, how should I set this up.

Where should the bubbles come up to? I've read half way up? is this correct and why this level?

How often should someone need to empty the cup?

I'm wondering if mine isn't set up correctly

depend on water depth the skimmer is in ,lower water,it needs a higher setting. Is it producing any foam yet. Imo , i'd adjust the water level to about 3/4 up the skimmer neck & see what Ya get. bunch of water in the cup turn it down a bit . Also not much will happen until it breaks in .You have to experiment. As for cleaning ,the inside of the neck needs to be kept clean.

the tube in inside the cup that would the skimate would be in. it should come off .
