World's Smallest Successful Frag?

I have asked for a Walt D from @FraghouseCorals and wanted him to send it right away next day after fragging and took the risk.

He sent it to me and as Murphy’s law always lands in my court, it RTNed pretty bad except one single polyp. So I put some glue around that leftover polyp and placed it somewhere in the tank.

What should I say, it grew real fast into a colony within the first year and did become an awesome coral.
Best grower I have honestly.

Sometimes I feel, some corals grown out from very small frags do best in the tank on the long run.

You and Murphy are becoming too chummy.

I've got a tricolor valida (which came from you actually) that STN'd down to almost nothing, but it's coming back now. This is about double what it was at its lowest.

Sorry was a big rough on it (and some of the others).

I've glued down nubbins before, a few polyps at best, but inevitably someone knocks it off after growing well for a few weeks. Then to rub it in my tuxedo urchins decide to use the dead nub as camouflage. Utterly depressing, somehow they know! But they're worth it, they've saved a gorilla milli by eating the section which had stn'd and grown over with algae. The urchin actually ate a handful of half inch dead skeletons to get to the algae. If it wasn't for the urchins the entire colony would have been smothered.

Also I've scraped Monti caps off the rocks to the point where I was satisfied that they were destroyed, only to sprout back.

Bottom right, someone in my club wanted my JF Fox flame and I was dumb enough to cut a tip off. The micro mini five polyp frag healed and was given. My frag has since lost all its color, but is healed and encrusted. I’ll never do that again to a 3/4” frag again!! I did the same to a pc rainbow at the same time except to some encrusting parts, also healed up and now my pc rainbow is brighter.

The little spec is a small branch of strawberry lemonade. Lost a majority of the colony and that is the only spec that survived. The bigger colony is of the small little frag ... close to a year later.

Beautiful! Nice Acros are hard to come by locally. Everyone is in to chalices or zoanthids.

Plating Hydnophora and moonshower Favia – I’ve grown both from single polyps.

I think there are one or two others too but after so much time it’s hard to remember.

I have a tiny chip of favia that's been hanging on to dear life. If I could give a visual measurement, i would guess it to be 2mm by 4mm.

I have had rocks with nothing visible on them start growing monti's after I had a massive die off /tank crash

ok.... this is a 20k lokani. when purchased, it was a tiny 1/2" frag. after a year, it only grew to about to 3/4" or so, but slowly encrusted on the rock.

Here is a relatively recent cell pic...what you see is about 10" wide and 5" front to back.

one other... his may not have been the smallest frag at 1.5" but it has grown quite massive. Frag arrived in a thermos thanks to JBNY.

now about 12" wide and 10" deep.

I got a spec of dust once from Tyree that literally was one-half of a polyp from an encrusting base and about 2mm by 2mm - not even a branch and it was cut in the middle of the polyp. I was disgusted and horrified, but that is kinda the way that he went when he was going down. He refunded me, but the coral did live, but probably took 24 months to be 5mm x 5mm and then it took off a bit from there. It was probable three years before it could leave the frag tank.

This RBTA was originally about 8” across, but then it started to go mobile. Moved across my tank and got sucked up and spit out through my tunze.
I found the tiniest piece (1/4”) months later in a piece of rock. Over the years it has grown into this, about 14” across.
