Worm ate out snail we think

We just put some new corals in and soon after noticed this worm in the tank. We hadn’t noticed if prior to putting in the corals. Next morning our turbo snail that had been in for several days and munching on algae was just an empty shell. Is the worm guilty? Will it harm the little clowns we have?

It’s a bristle worm. They are a great part of the CUC and the snail was probably dead and it “cleaned it up”.

Also, if you see 1 there are a bunch more you aren’t seeing.

Snail likely died on it's own and the worm cleaned it up for you. They don't kill snails.

Thank you for all the replies. We have been setup the tanks for 5 weeks and is experiencing the brown algae for almost two weeks. We asked the LFS and they said its diatom which is normal for the new tank. Now we found another creature in our tank but don't know what is it? It looks like a slug? Not sure if its good or bad in the tank.

Diatom algae are normal. Once they eat up all the silicates in your sand, they’ll eventually die out. They use the silicates to make their “shell”. So, long as you aren’t adding water with some sort of silicates, you’ll be fine. It’s all part of the cycling of your aquarium.

Those are isopods

I agree that looks like a nudibranch. I would probably remove it, most of them eat certain types of coral.

Also do you have any hermit crabs in the tank? If so that could be what ate your snail.

Definitely not a nudi. Nudis don’t have legs and antennae. Looks like an isopod. I’d remove it.

Yes i did have a hermit crab and i saw it attack the snail so i took it out. Then the next day the snail died. Maybe the snail was fatally injured
