So I've got this big sucker that pops out every now and then. He's huge, and I like him. I just want clarification that he's a regular bristle worm and not a fireworm. Any issues with keeping them this big? TIA. If pictures aren't good enough I can try again next time he comes out.

Looks like a bristleworm to me. Just how big is the thing do you guess? It’s hard to quantify through pictures, but it looks rather gigantic.

Maybe 4 inches or so. Hes really thick

Hmm 4 inches isn’t too bad, I’ve seen some get to monstrous sizes, big enough to drag away silversides lol. That’s the size when they *might* start to become a problem.

I have a superbig one? Probably 8 inches? I would like to catch him and get rid of him before he does something not nice... but I dont' know how. Any advice?

They do indeed sell traps and unlike shrimp, they’re not very clever. They smell food and they go towards it. As long as they don’t get spooked, the traps work well.

Before you buy a trap, try to use a plastic bottle (water or soda).

looks something like this. Very simple and you put food into the bottle. The worm crawl through the straws and fall into the bottle and usually can’t figure out how to get back out.
