My yellow tang has a thin black/red worm hanging out of his butt. He was perfectly fine until I started feeding him (He always poops when I feed him) and now he's twitching and refusing food. What should I do?

I couldn't get a photo of it. It just looked like a black string

Brown or black string? Could just be contipation, as most works are white when excreted. Hmm

Im hoping thats what it was. My yellow tang passed it and is starting to act normally again. Thanks!

Definitely just poop. I've noticed mine always poop while I'm feeding. It's like the new food pushes the old out instantly. I imagine sometimes it is different colors. As Ford said, it could very well have been something like constipation. Although I have no idea if fish suffer from this lol.

What’s metro?

Metro is short for metronidazole. It is a dewormer. You can put it with your fish food and feed your fish. I use seachem metroplex.

I qt all my fish with precautionary prazipro and metro to eliminate any flukes or intestinal worms.

For your situation most it's likely just regular poop and nothing to worry about. But like I said, metro won't hurt.

All good now. Thanks everyone
