New reefer here,

I happened to walk by and while a mushroom that is usually voluptuous was closed, I noticed a white worm looking thing, then a tube opening on the other side of a frag. I suspect it's a feather duster and I shouldn't worry about it too much.
Is my guess correct?
If so, should I try to leave things as is?
Long term, will it cause problems to my disco?

Looks like a feather duster to me. Long term it may irritate the coral, but they should coexists just fine.

I don't think anything kills mushrooms lol. Seriously, I think they would grow in toxic soup. If it does kill it, you will thank the feather duster in a few months. Mushrooms can and will grow exponetially, you need to keep them in check or they will strangle out any coral they come in contact with.
