Thanks for all of the ideas. Unfortunately, I have no idea what they are. I tend to think they’re harmless though. There are hundreds of them in my 120, and I haven’t noticed anything desirable getting eaten. I may thin them out some just due to quantity.
I've been looking for a ID for these for a few days and I haven't found anything close. I know that they are in the family of Polychaete worms, I'm leaning towards the class Nereididae because they have larger more defined heads. Did you use live rock in your tank?If so do you know where it came from? I'm trying to maybe pinpoint the location so it might be easier to find a ID.

My rock came from several sources - some dry, some live from local tanks, lfs, my old tank, etc. These guys could be from anywhere.

Why I don't like putting my hands between rocks or in the sand. ;Nailbiting

Haha!

I want worms to be in my tank but I NEVER want to see or touch them.

I know it's been awhile but I couldn't get these worms off my mind. I stumbled upon these as I was researching another worm. The head and body are identical the only difference is color. They are a type of Lined fireworm (Pherecardia striata) . From what I read they like the taste of coral! Here is a picture of one.

All one has to do is look at a close up of their mouth parts. All those flesh rending, tearing mandibles !
